Last nights tea, not such a winner. Everything tasted pretty darn good.. which in itself is good. Sardines however… too bony for fussy chaps like me.. just not quite happy with that. Sardines will have to go on the back burner for our scoffing purposes.
Upon my return from controlled violence training. I found myself wondering about this little blog and what it will achieve. Will I benefit from it being a place where I can vent about the things I like/don’t like etc? Will I benefit from the act of putting things down on paper (as it were) Will I benefit from the idea that somebody somewhere will see an idea I put here and save some money or enjoy a nice meal? Blogs are an interesting cultural phenomena that I had never really thought about before. One thing I am sure about is that by putting things on here I will have to get them done… a World wide advertisement of what I win or lose at. No hiding so best do my utmost to make it all work. That has to be a good thing for anybody, Hasn’t it?
Stick a Pin in that one though as I think I have enough to deal with before Sociopsychological musings are allowed to take over!
Today’s plan is a simple one. Get the back garden ready for the delights of the scaffolders tomorrow morning (7:30am on a saturday, for the love of god). I have to get everything out of the way so that they can work their magic.
This because after the scaffolders have finished the solar chaps turn up and the Save Some Green Solar Panels are to be installed. Ready for connection on Monday morning. Now inbetween the panels going up and the scaffolders collecting up again. I need to be busy. Our house is a typical 1950′s recon block property. The blocks designed to emulate Bath Stone in look at least. over the years however they have got stained and look frankly a bit awful so need a jolly good clean. They then need sealing again, I have put in a call or two in the search for Solvent free Waterseal and it isn’t the easiest thing in the world to get hold of… I may be forced to use something less environmentally sound to ensure I can get the job done. I won’t feel too awful as it will remain for the next 30 years making the house a drier, more sound place. Hopefully the maintenance will make the house look much lovelier than its current scruffy visage.
It’s also planting time for this years tunnel crops. Pepper’s, Cucumber, Tomato and I really want to grow a loofah
What’s for tea tonight I hear you all cry, I know, Such is the excitement pertaining to my grubbage adventures..
Well it is another cheap and cheerful plate of nosh that will be joining us but one that shall delight all manner of nerve endings.
Homemade Spicy breaded chicken, wedges and beans. All washed down with a lovely home brewed beer.
(Free range) Chicken bought reduced then frozen the day it was bought, Bread crumbs from the nobbies (end crusty bits of loaves) that would otherwise be thrown away (in other houses), all spiced up with cumin, turmeric chilli and maybe some paprika.. Spuds cost virtually nothing and a tin of beans. Probably one of our favourite ‘unhealthy’ meals.. Mmm! Photo’s and proper recipe to follow…
Right off to take some pics and clear out the nightmare that is the back garden in readiness for tomorrow !
